The Volkswagen XL1 may be known as the most fuel efficient car but it’s also one of the strangest looking vehicles. The rear wheels are nowhere to be seen and they’re covered with a ‘body shell frame’.
The rear lights work seamlessly with the rear of the body sand the lights essentially appear to be one long line. The doors rise of like a Lamborghini but this car certainly doesn’t have the same level of performance. It’s not designed for speed, it’s designed to be fuel efficient and there is even a futuristic steering wheel and plenty of in car accessories.
You don’t even get rear view mirrors, there are clever cameras with monitors at either side giving you a clear picture of what’s approaching you on your left and right, and it means that blind spots become less of a problem. The Volkswagen XL1 may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it could prove to be a very popular model in the years to come.
