Sourcing your own car parts is fairly easy if you know what you are looking for. Many consumers have realised that they can save a huge chunk on parts if they do the research and find buy them separately and ask a garage to fit them.
There are a few issues when doing this though that you should be aware of. Some mechanics and garages will refuse to fit parts that they have not bought as they cannot guarantee the work they are doing. Others will do it, but will state that you are only covered for the labour and if there is a fault with the part you will have to pay the again to rectify it.
When sourcing your own parts be sure that you know what you are looking for exactly. Often there are many variations of car parts and getting the wrong one can mean the job cannot be completed.
